Design Process

A good graphic designer will structure a process that ensures that the client gets the highest quality solution and service appropriate to their business, marketing, or communication problem, and so the client always knows what is coming up ahead. There are 4 main steps involved in the graphic design process.
1, Briefing

- The briefing stage consist of
- Initial informal discussions between you, the client, and your designer, covering project objectives, timing, and budget.
- Formal meetings to discuss your project in detail and clarify any technical issues, the budget, and the timetable.

- Initial Development
- The designer reviews the brief, background material, and his own research about the project to ensure understanding of the project context and your requirements.
- The designer develops the draft and preliminary designs.
- The designer reviews the brief, background material, and his own research about the project to ensure understanding of the project context and your requirements.
- Presentation
- The designer presents the visual solutions and explains the design decisions.
- Together you will evaluate the visual presentation against the brief.
- Polish
- Following the clients review and feedback, the designer modifies the dieting accordingly, and presents you with new designs.
- Initial Development
- Artwork
- The designer prepares the artwork files and provides a proof (email or hard copy)
- You either approve the proof by signing the artwork, or mark-up any changes you would like to see made on the proof and send it back to the designer.
- The designer will make the changes and send another proof.
- Any “author’s corrections” (client requested changes to content already provided which may include additional charges: these should be detailed in any quote conditions provided with your initial quote
- The designer prepares the artwork files and provides a proof (email or hard copy)
- Production
- The designer forwards the artwork to the client, in the form agreed upon in the initial briefing.
